OBJECTIVE :
Systems Engineer, Systems Architect, Database Engineer, Data Analyst / ETL / DBA
SUMMARY:
Employed for over 40 years experience in software development, MIS systems design & engineering, IT operations, and Infrastructure Architecture issues. I am versed in multiple programming languages, Operating Systems and RDBMS, and I can build out the hardware as well as the software. I have work experience ranging from microcomputers and PC’s to multiprocessor Midrange Unix Linux Solaris and VMS systems and clusters. I wrote my first ‘database’ on a DEC PDP-11 for the DECUS Library in 1984, and I’ve help migrate two different production systems, from two different companies, into the AWS Cloud.
I collect old working computers, I’m a published Astro-photographer, I tutor, and teach almost every subject I am knowledgeable in. I have had one internet email or another since 1991. I developed Gopher sites prior to the formation of HTTP/HTML and a few websites since then. I hacked my first BASIC program on a Data General Nova 1220 in 1974.
Specialties
I specialize in Database systems, and I am familiar with almost all types of RDBMS and ISAM systems short of Mainframes, including non-SQL systems from the Apache Software Foundation. I habitually reverse engineer and document everything I touch.
